Unexpected Guilt & Regret

An abstract painting depicting a dark figure curled up with chaotic lines suggesting emotional struggle.

I’m unsure when this began. I had heard about Jesus’ suffering and dying on the cross for our sins, but for some reason the weight of my own sins began bearing down on me

Including lies, I had spoken to my parents in the past, which also involved disrespecting them

Also, in the past I had stolen a small item just for the thrill, which was short-lived and led to taking a more expensive item, but this time I was caught by the owner who clipped my ear

Once again, I disrespected my parents by hiding sexual magazines in the house, which were found through my carelessness. I got told off, but like the shopkeeper, I got off lightly

I could have been disowned, and they could have been evicted by my parents to become homeless

But they were forgiving enough to let me stay until I got married; even then I continued to indulge in sexual indulgences for way too many years, as I have mentioned before

All of the above sins and many more that have yet to surface, adding to the scourging flogging that Jesus silently went through, the extremely painful crucifixion, all to forgive other sinners and including me

Even though I know I have been forgiven, I experienced deep regret and sorrow that I had personally added suffering onto my Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ
