Christmas Past

This is in memory of past years and how the culture in England has changed over the years

With little if anything to do with the birth of Jesus, replacing this most important fact

With fantasies of Santa’s Grottos, and Hollywood films adding flying Reindeer for fast delivery of children’s presents.

Christianity has been attacked over many years by the likes of Richard Dawkins, who was happy at the continuing drop of people who attend church, but upset that Ramadan was celebrated

Poor Richard, too obsessed by science to stop and realise that once worshippers stop attending churches will close or be converted into shops, restaurants or residential housing

 Christmas Past

The birth of Jesus was the true meaning of Christmas, for without His birth, we would all be without hope, without freedom from the slavery of sin

Let all those who have chosen by God to worship Him with all their hearts and not as the world has chosen, to celebrate “reason for the season” While encouraging inclusion for everything except Christianity and preaching salvation or even reading the Bible out loud

Hot – Cold – Luke Warm

God told us He would rather we were hot or cold and warned us never to be Luke warm

There have been Christians who became cold and turned away from the faith and became atheists

Some of those turned away from being atheists and became Christians again

While some staunch atheists fully embraced Christianity and were born again

Perhaps this world is full of people who have turned so away from God they have grown cold and hard-hearted

Even when on fire for God Christians attempt to preach the gospel, they are mocked and ignored

Ray Comfort takes a different approach by asking people if they consider themselves “Good”

Then step them through a few of the Ten Commandments, by asking if they have ever lied

Ever stolen anything – or have they ever committed adultery (lustily looked)

Then tell them they will have to face God on judgement day

Then He lists all those who will not be allowed into heaven – liars -thieves etc 

Then Ray asks them “Heaven or Hell?”

  He then preaches the good news

With this in mind, the cold and lost will fare better on judgement day than the Luke Warm

What does it mean to wait upon the Lord?

For some reason, the phrase “Wait upon the Lord” popped into my mind

As I was unsure, I started searching, because I thought it could mean I need to “Wait on the Lord” by becoming a servant.

Then again it could have meant I need to be patient for God to answer my prayers

Among the search results was this “The world has so many things they want to offer us on an instantaneous silver platter” basically treating God as a genie

The results of my search were the scriptures, the word wait means to hope, to anticipate, and to trust. To hope and trust in the Lord requires faith, patience, humility, meekness, long-suffering, keeping the commandments, and enduring to the end

Now I understand I pray the good Lord will help me “Wait upon the Lord”

Even though the fruits of the Spirit take time to grow and flourish, even though I know I have been “born again” and God has given me a new heart.

My flesh still fights against me and attempts to regain control through the evil one who lurks in the shadows of my mind ready to accuse or tempt

I will lift up my praise to my Saviour in thanks for all He has done

For whenever, temptation comes my way I remind myself through grace I am a new creation and the things of my past died on the cross with Christ Jesus

Amen

Spiritual Warfare

Life as a follower of Jesus Christ has never been without a price to pay, in the past many early Christians were thrown to staving lions as a source of entertainment by the Romans

Others were stoned to death such as Steven, but all those from the past were considered martyrs and later revered as saints

Later on, in time many Christians suffered and died rather than give up their faith

This still happens in the present day in other countries Christians risk losing their lives for sharing their faith or even owning a Bible or for criticizing what the culture believes to be their holy prophet  

In these present times, it seems the enemy changed to a more subtle approach

By using spiritual attacks, which by their very nature can not be seen but are proving to be just as deadly as the divide and conquer tactics.

With the use of lies that spread quickly throughout a congregation of believers.

Causing doubt and distrust both of which are strong and effective corrosive tools.

The enemy seems to have enlisted all atheists and most of the world through the use of the internet, seducing some by appealing to their vanity

Other though their addictions even Christians are being led astray by false teachers and prosperity preachers who appeal to human envy and greed

The enemy also haunts recent converted Christians with their past sins, whereas God forgives and forgets all sins of those who have asked and truly repented

I have undergone many of those spiritual attacks since I was forgiven and surrendered my life even though my free will is no longer mine.

Whenever the enemy either temps me or reminds me of my past, I remember that Jesus willingly suffered and died for all my sins “All I am and belong to Jesus my Saviour, He forgave me and has made me a new creation, Him alone I worship”

Praise the Name of Jesus

Thou have created all things and for your pleasure, they are created

Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress and my deliverer. My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Praise the name of Jesus

He’s my rock, He’s my fortress

He’s my deliverer

I will sing His praises for Jesus is worthy of praise

He was patient with me while I stubbornly clung to my increasing sinful nature

Jesus forgave me of all my sins as a gift even though I didn’t deserve His forgiveness

Jesus also freed me of my sexual addiction, freeing my mind and giving me a new heart

So that I would begin to desire the things of God and He put a new spirit within me

Teaching me and guiding me even through times of trouble and hardships, He is my comfort and true and faithful friend

When I consider all, He has done for such a sinner as me I can scarcely take in

With the pain, the suffering that He willingly went through I stand amazed in humble adoration

There is no lie that can be told or argument that will shake me from knowing that Jesus is my Lord and He is worth praising every day He gives me breath

The Holy Bible

These present days the Bible is either considered outdated or just a bunch of fairy tales

As believers, we are frequently called bigots for many reasons and we are often classed as foolish or arrogant because we affirm that Christianity is the only true faith

Whereas atheists frequently remind us that there are thousands of religions and holy books which have many devoted followers who believe their holy book and religion is the true one

So what makes Christianity any different?

First of all other faiths are works based, whereas Christianity is based on the free gift of forgiveness, that no other faith offers

Moreover, Christianity is based on a relationship with Jesus who offers to be our personal Saviour if we admit we are sinners and are truly repentant and ask for forgiveness

There are those who would kill off all the need for an intelligent designing god and say Jesus is just another myth dying and rising god.

To add more supposed proof atheists created a film discussing all the supposed dying rising gods with the aim to discredit Jesus.

Heavily relying on most people including some Christians not bothering to double-check out the so-called facts

The glaring truth of the falsehood of the entire film was that all these supposed Jesus like myth gods were portraited all the same features

From the virgin birth done to all the other features of Jesus, where in fact none of them had any of these features.

The biggest giveaway was they were all claimed to have been born on December the 25th

When all true Christians know the date of Jesus was not given in the Bible, and that date was only introduced much later in history as a way to help “Christianize” all heathens

Open Discussion on Religion

This post is a response to Atheist Vel of clubschadenfreude.wordpress.com who commented on one of my other posts and wrote there was no evidence of my willingness to discuss religion.

Hence this post and having is as an open discussion

Religion is a worldwide feature of the whole human race, allow me to turn your attention to the flat earth concept

People all over the world within their understanding viewed the world as a flat surface held up by different objects depending on where they lived

Some believed four giant turtles held up the world, other people believed four elephants supported the world

This flat earth belief seems to have been accepted in the whole earth

Even the intelligent Greek’s of the past believe in the flat earth

Until much later it was replaced by Plato wrote about a spherical Earth, and Aristotle provided strong empirical evidence for the spherical Earth which become the accepted shape worldwide

Suggesting that all humans of the past were somehow mind linked and perhaps they continued to be connected by the desire to create

Not only physical things but also supernatural beings, throughout the world of many religions all with their own version of god or many gods

All the people of the world have strived to know if there is a real God

Maybe this is why there are many Holy books all claiming to be divine and true, this includes the Bible

While the Old Testament were mostly Jewish in origin, New Testament was added to make the complete Bible

The New Testament tells the story of the life of Jesus and the early days of Christianity

Yeshua is the Hebrew name for Jesus. It means “Yahweh [the Lord] is Salvation.”

Unlike other faiths which require “works,” Christianity offers salvation as a gift

How Many Sins are You Carrying Around?

From my own experience of how easy it is to accumulate sin because in my case I didn’t think of it as sinning

Just pleasing myself, but there lays the problem, “SELF” that illusive hidden part of human nature

Illusive and hidden, because it is hard to pinpoint exactly where it is situated within our bodies

While fooling us into thinking whatever sin we are doing is harmless and even part of the human nature

But since sinning is way too easy and briefly pleasurable, we tend not to notice how clings to us and will begin to demand attention

“SELF” is never satisfied, enough is Never enough! One sin will lead to another, even if it’s not the same sin, although it will be when you begin sinning

As the sin will become habit-forming, most times without you noticing, the more you feed SELF, the deeper and darker sinning it will lead you into

While doing so every sin will linger within you adding weight to the sins you have already

Unlike dirt and grime that can be washed off your hands or body when you bathe, Sin sticks and accumulates

Along with this unseen and unpleasant problem, all sins will rob you of any peace or rest, as they grow in strength, they become more demanding  

They will plague every moment throughout your day, and continue to weaken your resistance to indulge  

While you may want or need to give up what started as a bad habit, using your willpower, will be unsuccessful, and you will find slipping back into Sin all too easy

In order to stop sinning, you need to Die to Self, by confessing all your sins and praying for forgiveness.

For as long as Self remains, you will be enslaved, you will be worshipping your-Self (a false god)

Weeds of Wickedness

Although I have been truly “Born Again” a New creation, then why do I still have times when I miss my past sinful life?

Times when my whole body yearns for the old self-centred self

Old sinful thought creep into my mind, along with doubts concerning this transformation of mine

While believe I ‘m a New creation at least in spirit, my body is still the sinful old self, which undergoing a transformation too

But it seems my earthly body will take long to transform, which made me wonder why

The it occurred to me all of my past sins were like weeds of wickedness, and as with normal weeds they can be long rooted, also the sin weeds are able to coke love and hope

Indeed, sin will coke all of the fruits of the spirit along with any new desire for serving God

In closing I would ask all readers to uplift me in prayer, that I may become more than a overcomer, not for my own sake, but so I may be able to truly glorify God  

False Freedom

I have over the years watched many videos, some with those who claim to have been a Christian and then for assorted reasons “Broken free” their words

They attract many comments from others who have chosen what I call a false freedom

So who am I that I dare to call their seemingly new freedom false?

I am someone who had thought I was a Christian, not because of my parents although they were married in a church along with marriage vows

But rather through Sunday school attendance (which I was told about later on in my life

Sometime later when attending a local school, where they read passages from the Bible every morning along with

I have over the years watched many videos, some with those who claim to have been a Christian and then for assorted reasons “Broken free” their words

They attract many comments from others who have chosen what I call a false freedom

So who am I that I dare to call their seemingly new freedom false?

I am someone who had thought I was a Christian, not because of my parents although they were married in a church along with marriage vows

But rather through Sunday school attendance (which I was told about later on in my life

Sometime later when attending a local school, where they read passages from the Bible every morning along with Christian Hymns

In those days I had no reason to doubt any of the stories which were read, even though it wasn’t until the readings began in the New Testament

That I and other pupils were introduced to Jesus, even from the beginning of His story, I was totally enthralled with His character and words

In those simpler days, I was a true child of God, never doubting

But as I aged towards the teenager age, fleshly desires grew stronger and began to weaken my belief

Further on as the desires gained stronger hold, the enemy used others to spread his lies

One being that Jesus was gay since He only mixed with men including His disciples

This thought sidetracked me so well that I began to think I must also be gay too, adding yet another dark and perverted path for me to wander onto

This was well before the current “gender confusion” and the idea that you can choose and alter your own gender, whatever gender you may have been born

What I and others didn’t stop to think about, is the fact every child is the product of two parents, one male, and the other female, so it’s little wonder that we might feel a stronger attraction towards the opposite to which we were born

I like many others I invited excuses (Lies in disguise) “I’m only human, I need some pleasure in my life” “I’m not hurting anybody” “It’s my body, and nobody else’s business what I do” and many more other excuses
